30-Day Song Challenge: DAY 6 (for Sunday)

(I don’t go online on weekends so I won’t be able to post Days 5 and 6. So I’ll be doing this in advance.)

Alright. This is for Day 6, Sunday, August 28th. This one’s about a song that reminds me of a place. Hmmh… I couldn’t think of any so I had to search for a song in Musika’s playlist. And this was what I found:

Day 6: A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere — Stop and Stare (One Republic)

Whenever I hear this song, I remember the place where Starlight and I first hang out together and got to know each other more.  It’s somewhere in Las Piñas City. But yeah, it’s special because he played that song with his phone’s music player and sang it. I sang along with him but I didn’t know the lyrics that well. :)

“Stop and stare
I think I’m moving but I go nowhere
Yeah I know that everyone gets scared
But I’ve become what I can’t be, oh
Stop and stare
You start to wonder why you’re here not there
And you’d give anything to get what’s fair
But fair ain’t what you really need
Oh, can you see what I see”

30-Day Song Challenge: DAY 5 (for Saturday)

(I don’t go online on weekends so I won’t be able to post Days 5 and 6. So I’ll be doing this in advance.)

Okay, so here is for tomorrow, Saturday, August 27th. It says that it’s about a song that reminds me of someone. This is the first and only song that came into my mind. Nothing else but…

Day 5: A Song That Reminds You of Someone — Starlight (Muse)

It is very special because it’s OUR song.. :) We happened to have sung it together while on a trike and the message just struck us.

“My life, you electrify my life. Let’s conspire to reignite all the souls that would die just to be alive. I’ll never let you go, if you promise not to fade away. Never fade away…

Hold you in my arms… I just wanted to hold you in my arms!”

Lotsalove for my Starlight. <3

YouTube Hopping:: Eat Bulaga Impersonation

This is the funniest video I’ve seen recently. It’s an Eat Bulaga Juan For All, All For Juan episode. It was the greatest laugh (the greatest silent laugh to be exact) I’ve had so far.

Go on and laugh like I did!

Watch it! :D

Marriage Proposal

I just saw a video of Wong Fu Productions called Wong Fu Weekend. It’s their 28th WFW episode and this one is really special. They went on tour, which they call the ISA (International Secret Agents), in New York. They, along with the other Asian-American artists, performed onstage in front of a large crowd.

One of them named Ted nervously went on stage alone and called out his girl friend. No one didn’t have a clue what was about to happen. Ted started introducing his girl friend — with a shaky voice — and telling the people how long they’d been together. Suddenly he pulled something out of his pocket, got down on his knees, and said “Cathy, will you marry me?”

The crowd was on hyper mode. I got teary-eyed watching it. I paused it for a while because if I didn’t, my tears would definitely come running down my face. It was really awesome, overwhelming, surprising, and so full of love.

I didn’t use to think that a marriage proposal would be a big deal for a couple, especially for a woman. I used to think it was unnecessary because, anyway, you may really end up marrying each other, according to your plans. (Unless it was because of unexpected and unplanned pregnancy)

But now, I’m imagining what it would be like if Cathy were me. Just like a young 9 year-old girl daydreaming about her 18th birthday party.

My love life (if that’s what you call it) is pretty complicated. So I don’t know if I’ll ever have my own epic experience called ‘marriage proposal.’

How about you? How would you like your boyfriend to propose to you? If you’re already engaged or married, how did your guy propose?

Love is beautiful. Just like life, it’s the people that complicate it. Stay in love. Not only to your partner, but also to your family, your kids, and to God.

Here’s the video of Ted’s proposal (if you want to skip, click on to 07:40)

30-Day Song Challenge: DAY 4

Yesterday, after posting Day 3, I checked out what Day 4 was going to be about. As soon as I found out that it was about a song that made me feel sad, I knew what song I’d be posting. I learned about it over a year ago when Starlight posted a video of it on his Facebook and told me about the movie Shortbus.

This song is a theme from that movie. It is quite gloomy and depressing, but not in a sense that you’ll breakdown and want to die. Definitely not. For me, it’s more of a song that makes us analyze our lives and ourselves.

It’s originally sang and written by Scott Matthew, but Justin Bond also has a version of his own. I’ll be posting both videos here.

Ok, so here it is…

Day 4: A Song That Makes You Sad — In The End (Scott Matthew)

Justin Bond’s version from the movie Shortbus

“we all bear the scars
yeah, we all feign a laugh
we all cry in the dark
get cut off before we start

and as your first act begins
you realise they’re all waiting
for a fall, for a flaw, for the end

and there’s a past stained with tears
could you talk to quiet my fears
could you pull me aside
just to acknowledge that i’ve tried

as your last breath begins
contently take it in
cause we all get it in
the end

and as your last breath begins
you find your demon’s your best friend
and we all get it in
the end”
