McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop 2011

This summer vacation, McDonald’s is holding a workshop for kids ages 6-12. It is the McDonald’s Kiddie Crew Workshop. It’s a 5-day workshop with lots of different activities such as manning the restaurant, learning values and doing art projects. It’s on-going until May 20th. (I’m not sure though if the registration’s still open.)

My son, Titus, belonged to Batch 3 along with my brother’s son Euan and his wife’s cousin’s daughter Jhem-Jhem. They started last April 25th and they just had their Graduation yesterday morning. The said graduation was only for the 3rd batch in Cabuyao Branch. They’ll have their Graduation day at SM Sta. Rosa Event Center on May 7th.

These are what they did for 4 days:

Day 1 – Teamwork

They were divided in several groups and were toured in McDonald’s kitchen. Then they learned this year’s Kiddie Crew song Make It Happen. Ate Kathy read them a story about teamwork. After that, they were divided once again into groups and each group was designated to different tasks: greet customers at the door, assist at the counter, and wipe tables and chairs. Titus and Euan were assigned at the door. When they were done, they had Coke and Hamburgers that my nephew did not enjoy. (He never enjoyed his snacks since he doesn’t like burgers and spaghetti.)

While waiting for the workshop to start. (l-r Euan, Jhem-Jhem, and Titus)

They were given a McDonald's Kiddie Crew shirt, a bullcap, an ID card, and a backpack - all included in the Php550.00 fee!

On their way to the kitchen tour!

"Good morning! Welcome to McDonald's!" "Salamat po! See us again!"

Day 2 – Hardwork

They practiced their McDonald’s song. They were divided into groups again and Titus’ group was assigned at the counter. Each of the kids was given a picture puzzle and a box of 8-piece Crayola for their art project. When they had finished coloring, Kuya Christian lectured them about hardwork and taught them the McDonald’s dance (have no idea what the title is :D but that’s really cute.) They had spaghetti and Coke today.

Day 3 – Discipline

They practiced singing and dancing first before they were divided into groups. Titus’ group assisted at the counter and wiped tables and chairs. For their art projects, they decorated their own McDonald’s tumblers! They had pineapple juice and hamburger for snacks.

Day 4

It was their 4th day and it was almost their graduation day! So they practiced singing and dancing again. Titus wiped tables with his group members then they colored another Ronald McDonald and gang’s picture. They all had Coke and spaghetti.

Kuya’s Bodey

It was my kuya’s birthday yesterday, April 18th. I was planning to put a note under his mouse. He always wakes up early in the morning and goes straight to the computer. So if he finds out that his mouse isn’t working well, he’ll automatically look what’s wrong and finds my note. :) But unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do so due to some circumstances. ;)

I just put my birthday present for him inside his closet. It was a pair of espadrilles. I was worried they wouldn’t fit but I think he’s wearing them now. I saw the magazine pages (what I used to wrap my gift) on the floor and I couldn’t find  the shoes. Maybe he liked them after all.

Happy birthday, kuya. ‘Yun na ‘yun.

Incubus: If Not Now, When?

I was reading through Saab’s blog when something made my eyes pop out of their sockets and made my mouth open wide. It was this picture:

I named it "tae to" so that my Gerpren May wouldn't have any idea what I was sending her through Skype. She loves Incubus, too.

I have never been to a concert all my life and if I could, I would really take my first chance at my favorite band’s concert here in the Philippines! I’m pretty sure the tickets will be quite costly but it’s still in July, I’ll have time to save up some money. (Hopefully I can ’cause I really want to see them perform live.)

Ooh, well… Bathala na. God it’s up to you if you’ll let us see it. But I hope you’ll gratify my simple wish. ;)

Animated Rix Talking About Facebook

I was browsing YouTube for blonde videos and I came across an animated movie. It said “If you can type, you can make movies.” It caught my eye so I clicked on the link and what I saw made my my eyes grow wide.

Xtranormal is really an extra-ordinary site that enables users to create animations just by clicking and typing. You can choose your actor’s movements, cameras, facial expressions, and gestures. You can also choose your character’s voice and language. You just need to type away the story and an electronic voice will convert your text to speech.

You may want to try it. Go to www.xtranormal.com and start creating your own movies! Enjoy~

Blonde Jokes

I once became a Work-At-Home agent of a large call center company. During that period, I answered queries  that clients sent via SMS. There were questions about train and flight schedules, symptoms of illnesses, general information and locations. There were also requests for jokes.

Under the jokes section, there were Chuck Norris jokes (I bet these days there are Charlie Sheen jokes), Redneck jokes, and Blonde Jokes among many others.

I was - and still am – wondering, why on earth, have there been blonde jokes? And the jokes convey how stupid blonde people are. The jokes are funny, yes. But I still don’t understand why and how it started anyways.

I believe it’s not in a person’s hair color or race to say whether they are smart or dumb. I am also not a racist or a discriminator so I never evaluate a person’s knowledge, intelligence or ability by their race or appearance.

Of course, there are ignorant, foolish, noobs, smart, clever, intelligent, and genius. Just as there are rich and poor.

Now, now… Here are some videos about  the “dumb” blondes…

I tried searching for Smart Blonde videos but I only found the same videos with dumb blondes. I found these though:

Laughing at what they said would be better than laughing at the people themselves. I don’t  think we should be judging a person by how they look or where they’re from.

If you think you are too smart, then there’s absolutely something wrong with you. Shut your mouth. Be quiet. And start thinking.

It’s Our 15th! Yay!

It’s the 8th of April and it’s our 15th month. He’s not here so we can’t celebrate it together. Thanks to technology though, we can hear our voices and greet each other on our special day.

My song. His song. Our song.

YouTube Hopping: Annoying Orange

My Gerpren May showed me this funny video on YouTube. It’s Annoying Orange. I’ve seen it somewhere before but didn’t pay much attention to it. Now I’ve realized I shouldn’t have ignored it at all. It’s freaking funny and it’s purely LOL. I can’t stop laughing and I am grinning widely while I’m writing this.

Here are some of the videos I’ve seen that made me laugh my arse off!

Enjoy~

Lady Pasta

Saw

Going Walnuts

Gerpren and I think that the person behind it is a genius. The name says it all. He’s a friggin’ annoying orange! His laugh was freaking me out and I just couldn’t keep my mouth shut. Hahaha!

Lemme just share with you my favorite clips:

- when Orange sang “Orange-Orange-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge-Or’nge” in Lady Pasta

- when he called the eggplant Barney and a potato with a bad circulation in Saw

- when he sang “I’m an orange, that’s a key, there’s an emo clown on TV” in Saw

- when he played a Knock Knock Game with the walnut in Going Walnuts
